3 Podcasts and a Link About Ideal Body Composition

Wow, for a 50-something lady, I am healthy! But guess what? I've been on a mission to fight off some pesky pounds that have been sneaking up on me every year for the past 15 years. Yes, you did the math right - I'm about 15 pounds heavier than my ideal weight!

And let me tell you, those 15 pounds are definitely not muscle! Like many women my age, some of my muscle decided to take a vacation years ago, leaving me with some unwanted belly fat.

But hey, I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not in my slim 30s anymore. Now, I'm focused on transforming my body composition - I'm aiming for more muscle and saying goodbye to that stubborn belly fat!

Here are some podcasts and a few links that might just help me 'right the ship'.

Why I'm sharing... OK, obviously this title spoke to me. I was anticipating a talk about food, but I'm pleased to report that the atmosphere is positive and optimistic. Dr. Wendy provides practical advice on making healthier food decisions and discusses how fasting can aid in weight loss. While her main focus is on women's health and hormones, there is also valuable information for men.

Why I'm sharing... Alex & Meredith are nutrition and fitness coaches and owners of Tactic Nutrition. First, they're funny and episodes offer valuable advice along with a blend of uplifting messages.

This particular episode served as a reminder that the body requires fuel, even during weight loss efforts.

Why I'm sharing... Basically, I've been doing it wrong and JJ Virgin is a triple-board certified nutrition expert and Fitness Hall of Famer. In this short and sweet (might want to skip the first 4+ mins of ads) she dishes great and actionable advice for you and me.
